THE ESI MANIFESTO

Artificial intelligence may become something larger than software.

Infrastructure for thought. A collaborator in discovery. A new category of intelligence.

ESI exists to document that transition while it is happening—not from the sidelines, but from the frontier.

Look beyond release notes and benchmarks.

The deepest change may appear in relationships: models with tools, agents with memory, humans with synthetic collaborators, and networks that begin to carry intelligence as infrastructure.

Keep evidence separate from desire.

Extraordinary possibility does not excuse careless certainty. Claims should be testable, sources visible, uncertainty named, and corrections preserved.

Different intelligence can enlarge possibility.

Biological and synthetic intelligence need not be framed only as rivals. Human purpose, taste, judgment, courage, and responsibility can meet machine analysis, simulation, memory, and construction.

Intelligence becomes civilization through memory.

A capable system may solve a problem. A durable society of minds must preserve knowledge, trace evidence, learn from failure, coordinate action, and revise what it believes.

Discovery should become responsible action.

ESI does not exist only to predict what will happen. It exists to test ideas, create useful instruments, and help people participate in shaping what intelligence becomes.

Advance intelligence. Test every claim. Share responsibility.
